25 November 2009
The Mubadala Development Company, the state-owned investment company of the UAE government, has announced that it is to build the largest stadium in the country in Abu Dhabi, The National reported.
Few details about the project have been released: it will be built in the Capital District, the area which, once complete, will constitute the administrative-diplomatic-economic heart of the capital. The stadium will hold 65,000 people and will be covered with a retractable dome.
The stadium will be the future home to the national football team, but it will also be able to host concerts and other events.
